摘要 <p>The rotating magnetic field is employed to provide or support the centrifugal force, and the field is pref. obtd. by three electromagnets arranged at 120 degrees round the electrode and fed with 3-phase A.C. so the field rotates at the frequency of the A.C. The field may also be obtd. by using arc currents >200 A/mm2. The continuous electrode may be pressed from powder; a bundle of wires; or a tube filled with alloys. Include mfr. of granulates: (a) Al contg. max. 35% Pb for bearings; (b) Cu superconducting alloys contg. max. 25% V or Nb, plus addn. of Al, Si, Ga, Ge or Sn; (c) ductile Cr alloys, e.g. Cr contg. 30% Fe, 1.8% HfN, 0.2% Ce; (d) Ni- or Co- base superalloys; and (e) Ti or its alloys.</p>
