1476051 Sliders for sliding clasp fasteners YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 30 Jan 1975 [7 Feb 1974] 4078/75 Heading E2S In a sliding clasp fastener slider of the kind having a pull tab 11 and a body 10 and locking means, the slider body including top and bottom wings 14, 15 which are interconnected by a web 17 centrally at the front end of the slider body to define a generally Y- shaped guide channel therethrough, an automatic lock mechanism comprises, in combination, a locking leaf spring 18 generally arranged longitudinally over the top wing 14 of the slider body, said locking leaf spring having a pair of parallel spaced slits 19 extending lengthwise from its rear end and terminating short of its front end whereby said locking leaf spring is divided into a central strip 21 and a pair of side strips 22a, 22b which are interconnected at the front end of the locking leaf spring, and spring retaining means 23a, 23b and 24a, 24b on said top wing 14 of said slider body adapted to engage said side strips 22a, 22b of said locking leaf spring to retain the latter on said slider body. According to the invention also the central strip 21 of the locking leaf spring has a portion extending rearwardly of said side strips to provide a locking pawl 30 which normally projects into said guide channel in the slider body, the central strip 21 of the locking leaf spring also having a raised portion 25 intermediate both ends thereof which is adapted to be surrounded by said pull tab 11 in such a manner that, when a pull is exerted on the pull tab, the central strip 21 is generally raised away from the slider body 10 whereby the locking pawl 30 retracts away from said guide channel in said slider body. As shown, the front ends of the slits 19 are enlarged at 20 and the spring retaining means comprises pairs of retainers 23a, 23b, and 24a, 24b which project upwardly from the top wing 14 and which respectively engage the outer edges, and rear ends, of the respective side strips. The pivot pin 27 of the pull tab 11 passes beneath raised portions 26a, 26b, 25 of the side and central strips and has an intermediate protruberance 29 for slidable engagement with the raised portion 25 of the central strip 21. |
