The electrolyte (5) employed in the measurement is hygroscopic, and the impedance between the electrodes is a measure for the relative humidity. This measuring arrangement is designed, in particular, to shorten the time to establish the humidity and temperature equilibrium. To this end, the electrolyte (5) is arranged in such a way on an electrolyte carrier (41 and 43, respectively), that the former (41) surrounds the electrolyte on all sides in at least one cross-sectional plane, or that the electrolyte is permeated by the electrolyte carrier (43). <IMAGE>
