摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material wherein an image part which is colored by heat energy has an absorption in a wavelength region of 350-470 nm, and a contrast of the absorption with a non-image part is high. SOLUTION: For this thermal recording material wherein on a supporting body, a thermal coloring layer of which the major components are a colorless or slightly tinted electron donative coloring agent, an electron acceptor deveopler, and a binder resin, is provided, as the electron donative coloring agent, a spiropyrane compound represented by the formula is contained. In the formula, R1-3 represent alkyl groups with the number of carbon atoms of 1-4 respectively, R4 represents alkoxy groups with the number of carbon atoms of 1-4, alkyl groups with the number of carbon atoms of 1-4, hydrogen atoms or halogen atoms. A colored image part which is obtained by heat energy has an absorption peak in a wavelength region of 350-470 nm.
