PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means preventing a fuse loss of an air bag in the beginning of air bag inflation, by preventing direct contact of non-inflated air bag with gas of high temperature by a simple means, in the initial stage of action in a gas generator. SOLUTION: This air bag module A is formed by securing a bag cover 5 to an almost rectangular retainer 2 mounting an air bag 1 and a gas generator 3. Here, a cloth-made cover 7 covering an upper total surface of the gas generator 3 to be burst by heat and pressure of gas in the beginning at gas generation time is held to the retainer 2, so that during the time till bursting the cover 7 in the beginning at gas generation time, by gas released from the gas generator 3, the air bag 1 is slightly inflated, between itself and an upper surface of the gas generator 3, a space is formed, in this way, in the beginning at gas generation time, high temperature gas from the gas generator 3 is prevented from being jetted in an adjacent condition in a part just above the gas generator of the air bag 1. |
