The invention relates to a method for repairing pipeline systems laid underground, with inspection shafts arranged at intervals, in which a plastic tube has a slightly smaller diameter than the unobstructed diameter of the defective pipeline, is drawn into the latter and is attached by means of a filling material which is introduced into the remaining intermediate space between the pipes. In order to avoid lifting out earth, which is required to insert the plastic pipe into the damaged pipeline, the method according to the invention provides for the plastic pipe which is to be inserted to be sawn into short pipe pieces and for the latter to be connected to one another again in the inspection shaft by means of electrically operated heated tool welding, known per se, and a clamping device, and the plastic pipe strand threaded into the defective pipeline to be drawn in, piece-by-piece, by means of a cable line, in each case after welding on a further pipe piece, until the plastic pipe strand thus formed has assumed the complete length of the defective pipeline.
