PURPOSE:To keep a probe on the side of a tank to be tested and to make said probe movable while suppressing leakage of a contact medium as far as possible by providing wheels for running, a storage for contact medium, attracting magnets etc. CONSTITUTION:Wheels 3, 4 made of rubber and permanent magnets 5, 6 are provided in the front part and rear part of a stand 2 and a support 8 for a probe 7 is provided at the center of the stand. A hole 8a is formed on the lower face of the support 8, and an annular sealing material 10 made of rubber is attached around the opening of the hole 8a. A probe 7 is screwed in the hole 8a, and a contact medium 11 is supplied from a pipe 12. When using, the device is lowered by a winch by a specified distance and attracted on the surface of a steel tank by the action of magnets. Then, the contact medium, for instance, water, is sent and filled in the storage 28 by pressure. When the winch is wound up while inputting a transmitting pulse to the probe, the flaw detector 1 travels on the side of the tank and performs flaw detection continuously on the side of the tank. |
