PURPOSE:To permit easy and sure exchanging of a filter device for a working fluid of an electric discharge machine by exchanging the filter device by mounting and dismounting two freely attachable and detachable joints. CONSTITUTION:In the case of exchanging a clogged filter 3, a filter device 1 is disconnected from a working fluid feed pipe 13 by means of joints 15 and 15' and the filter 3 is removed to the outside of a tank 2 by removing the simple fixing means for holding the device 1 immobile in the tank 2. The filter 3 is mounted in the procedure reverse to the above. As a result, the exchanging operation of the device 1 is easy and since the outflow of the sludge accumulated in the filter 3 is obviated when the device 1 is removed, the contamination of the clean working fluid is prevented and the staining of the surrounding even when the filter device is taken to the outside is obviated.
