PURPOSE:To prevent the partial wear of work roll by edging a strip while changing a width rolling reduction by means of an edging mill, before horizontal rolling the strip, in a finishing stand of rolling line. CONSTITUTION:A strip 3 is edged by an edging mill 2 installed between the finishing stands of a rolling line. At that time, the strip 3 is edged while changing the width rolling reduction in its longitudinal direction. Thereafter, the strip 3 is horizontally rolled by work rolls 1 without collapsing the summits of dog bones formed on the strip 3 by the same parts of roll 1. In this way, the partial wear parts produced in the work roll 1 is dispersed, to improve the durability of work roll. |
