The invention concerns a method and machine for assembling a box with polygonal cross-section from a flat corrugated board blank (1) comprising an assembly of panels (12, 13, 14, 15) linked with one another by mutually parallel first folding lines (16, 17, 18) and flaps linked to said panels by second folding lines (27 to 30) and a tab (31) derived from one of the panels (12) for butt-jointing the box. The invention is characterised in that each blank is removed from a magazine, with its outer face up, then transferred horizontally, following a rectilinear path at a constant and controlled speed, towards a mandrel (3) whereon it is precisely brought before shaping alongside one of the panels coinciding exactly with the mandrel (3) top horizontal surface, and said transfer at constant and controlled speed is used for precisely depositing bond lines (58) on the tab (31) and its two small flaps (23, 25) ensuring shaping around the mandrel and/or the ink for labelling (59). |
