PURPOSE:To improve the conductivity of a non-sintered positive electrode and its durability to charge and discharge cycles by using mixture of nickel hydroxide of which surface is reformed by metal grains and binding agent held by conductive core material. CONSTITUTION:The surface of nickel hydroxide grains 6 for active material of a positive electrode is partly coated with at least metal grains 5, and mixture of the nickle powders 6 of which surface is reformed by metal grains 5 with binding agent is held by core material having conductivity. Connected parts between grains of nickel hydroxide 6 having less conductivity are thus reduced, and most connections are between metal grains 5 formed on the surface of the nickel hydroxide grains 6, so contact resistance between the nickel hydroxide grains 6 is small, and high rate discharge characteristics are good, while since connection between nickel hydroxide grains 6 and metal grains 5 is not released easily in charge and discharge cycles, life of charge and discharge cycles can be elongated. |
