PURPOSE:To perform the stability of ink transfer and the acceleration of transferring and recording speeds by controlling a transfer electric field between an ink conveying drum and transfer means in response to the temperature of ink, and transferring a transfer pattern image on a recording sheet. CONSTITUTION:An ink conveying drum 10 is rotated, and a voltage is applied to an ion flow write head 20. Ink 14 is held in an ink holding hole 12 of a section dipped in an ink tank 16 upon rotation of the drum 10. The ink 14 in the hole 12 is charged by ions responsive to predetermined image information by the ions passed just under the head 20 and selectively radiated from the head 20, and moved to the side of a transfer unit of next step. When the ink 14 passes the transfer unit 30, the ink 14 is attracted by a transfer electric field controlled by a bias applied from a variable bias power source 60 to a transfer roll 32 in response to an ink temperature, and a transfer pattern image is transferred to a recording sheet 34. |
