PURPOSE:To obtain a water-soluble mucin useful for cosmetic dissolving in water-system and having transparent feeling without white turbidity, or acting as stabilizer of cosmetic accompanying emulsifying by hydrolyzing mucin with proteolytic enzyme and dispensing the supernatant solution. CONSTITUTION:Mucin as a sort of glycoprotein derived from various animals and a complex of mucopolysaccharide protein is hydrolyzed using actinase AS as proteolytic enzyme and a water-soluble mucin for mixing in cosmetic, composed of 15-30% total sugar amount, 15-27% as glucosamine, 2-8% as fucose and 1-5% as uronic acid is obtained from the supernatant of said hydrolyzed solution. Resultant mucin is able to be used in a water-soluble, liquid type cosmetic such as toilet lotion, or although showing no suspending properties in water system, acts as stabilizer of cream or milky lotion of emulsified, dispersed or suspended type and makes spread of cream or milky lotion good. |
