PURPOSE:To obtain the magnetic head having extremely high sensitivity by forming the coil of the magnetic head of a superconducting material and providing a Josephson junction part to the coil. CONSTITUTION:The superconducting coil 2 is formed via an insulating layer on the magnetic core 1a on a substrate 4 and the coil 3 is formed via an insulating layer 5. The Josephson junction is formed of the coils 2, 3 and the upper magnetic core 1b is formed via the insulating layer. An oxide superconducting material of Y, Ba, Cu systems is used for the superconducting coils 2, 3 and the coils are operated at the temp. of liquid N2. The inflow magnetic flux from the recording medium constituted in such a manner flows in the magnetic cores 1a, 1b. The magnetic flux passes in the loop formed of the superconducting coils 2, 3 and the voltage corresponding to the passed magnetic flux is generated in the two Josephson junction surfaces. The detection of the magnetic flux with extremely high sensitivity in the min. unit of the magnetic flux is, therefore, possible. |
