PURPOSE:To obtain an information recording medium from which information can be stably read out without influenced by noise by constituting the recording layer of an alloy of a specified composition in the medium which has a fluorocarbon base layer of the specified thickness under the recording layer, and providing an overcoat layer on the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:The baser layer 2 is formed between the substrate 1 and the recording layer 3 by plasma polymn. with using fluorocarbon as the source gas, and the recording layer 3 contains Ag Te, C and H, with Ag/Te ratio expressed by AgxTe100-x satisfying 2<=x<=55 atomic%. The thickness of the base layer 2 is specified to 600 - 1,600Angstrom . The overcoat layer 4 is provided on the recording layer 3. Since the base layer 2 has an effect of multiple reflection of light which irradiates the medium, the reflectance of the medium is enhanced. Thus, the obtd. medium can be reproduced with light without influenced by noise at the time of reading the information and the information can be stably read out. |
