<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for fetch by providing a means, where repeated contents of a program to repeatedly fetch the same contents are stored by an external or internal factor, and directly loading them to a queue. CONSTITUTION:When a reset input is made active from the external, a program counter 3 is initialized, and fetch of the program is started to store instructions in an instruction queue 4 and an instruction holding memory 5. An instruction execution unit 2 fetches contents of the queue 4 to start execution of instructions. When the reset input is made active again, data preliminarily stored in the queue 4 is loaded from the memory 5 through a bus 6. The counter 3 is counted up by the number of instructions. Consequently, instruction prefetch is different from that for the first input of the reset signal and is started from the address of 6 bytes after. Thus, instructions are executed without repeatedly executing the read cycle for unnecessary fetch.</p> |
