PURPOSE:To enhance the duplicability of printing dots in any density in the density range, by providing specific intermediate layers between a substrate and a thermal recording layer. CONSTITUTION:Between a substrate and a recording layer, an intermediate layer containing non-expandable hollow particles of 5mum or less outer diameter made of thermoplastic resin and an intermediate layer containing an inorganic or organic pigment. As the non-expandable hollow particles, the substance of 50 deg.C or above glass transition temperature is preferably used. This specific hollow particles are dispersed in the binder generally composing the thermal recording layer to be used as a coating liquid for the intermediate layer. The inorganic or organic pigment contained in the intermediate layer is dispersed in a commonly used binder, and after grinding treatment is applied thereto as necessary it is used as a coating liquid for the intermediate layer. |
