PURPOSE: To provide a method and an apparatus for heatsetting a thermoplastic tubular article for improving a production efficiency with a coolant of a low cost and easy to be handled such as water or the like applicable by diversifying a shape of an article to be molded, omitting the step of aligning an article to be sprayed with a machine, and simplifying a production system such as manufacturing by a single apparatus or the like. CONSTITUTION: The method for heatsetting a thermoplastic tubular article comprises the steps of introducing a pressurized gas from one end of a rectangular hollow parison, heating the parison while fully filling the gas, pushing the parison against an extrusion mold heated to a temperature gradient without unevenness to the article having good dimensional stability even with a rising temperature, then fountaining the coolant such as the water into the parison, discharging the pressurized gas in the parison from the other end of the parison, disordering the coolant to a turbulent flow, and rapidly and effectively cooling the parison. |
