PURPOSE:To allow a mirror to reflect an image having a proper lightness by installing an illumination unit of surface light emission type over the mirror in horizontally laid arrangement, and accomplishing an illumination which is provided with butt-wing light distribution having excellent directionality and in which no glaring will be generated. CONSTITUTION:The light from a fluorescent lamp 3a is projected concentratedly by a reflex plate 3c onto the light incident surface (a) of a photo-conductive element 3b. By the same princple as optical fiber, it is led in each photo- conductive plate P to the light emitting surface (b) while making whole reflexion repeatedly, and is reflected in the condition with surface light emission by the reflex surfaces S1-S5 of the reflex plate 3c evenly with a certain directionality, and a person confronting the mirror body 2 is thereby illuminated effectively with a uniform bright light with less damping. This allows the person to carry out makeup or shaving properly, and the person is free from feeling any fatigue due to glares because no direct beam of fluorescent lamp 3a will come into the eyes. Also the appearance of the mirror can be improved. |
