PURPOSE:To enable the changing of the direction of transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves as desired simply without requiring much time and labor after the insertion of an inserting section of an ultrasonic probe into a body cavity of a body to be inspected. CONSTITUTION:A tubular inserting section 2 to be introduced into a body cavity of a body to be inspected is provided at the tip of the inserting section 2 and an ultrasonic probe 3 to transmit an ultrasonic wave to and receive it from the object to be inspected. In an ultrasonic probe 1 thus arranged, the ultrasonic probe 3 is provided rotatably on the outer circumferential surface 2A of the inserting section to alter the direction of transmitting and receiving the ultrasonic wave by turning the ultrasonic probe 3. |
