<p>PURPOSE:To effectively utilize a combustible gas generated in a melted pig iron-producing installation for improving the profitability, to prevent the generation of sticking to a preliminary reduction furnace in the melted pig iron-producing operation and to enhance the reduction rate of iron ore in the preliminary reduction furnace. CONSTITUTION:A combustible gas 4C exhausted from a melted pig-producing installation A in a large volume is subjected to the cooling and dust-removing process in a gas-washing installation B, subsequently subjected to the removal of most of sulfur compounds and carbon dioxide in a desulfurization installation C, and further to the condensation and removal of most of water to provide the combustible gas having a low oxidation degree. A part of the combustible gas is taken out as a gas 6b for reducing the iron ore for the proper operation of the melted pig iron-producing installation A. The remained gas 6c is supplied to a CO-shift reaction installation D to enrich hydrogen gas in the gas, subjected to a carbon dioxide-removing treatment E and subsequently supplied to a methanol-synthesizing installation F to effectively utilize the gas as a raw material for the synthesis of methanol. The method permits to utilize the combustible gas for producing the methanol as a clean fuel at a low cost, the combustible gas being generated in large amounts by a melted pig iron-producing method capable of using low grade coal and low grade iron ore which deposit plentifully and are inexpensive.</p> |
