摘要 PURPOSE:To record an image of high image quality on plain paper by using a recording material having a dyeing layer characterized in that the glass transition temp. of the resin forming the dyeing layer has a specific value and the cosine of the contact angle only of the resin layer shows a specific value and the resin of the recording material is different from the resin forming the colorant layer on a transfer material along with the transfer material and an image receiving material. CONSTITUTION:A recording material 4 wherein a dyeing layer 42 is partially or entirely formed to the surface of a base material 41 by a coating or heating means and consisting of high-molecular and low-molecular resins, transfer materials 1, 2 and an image receiving material 5 are used. Thermal transfer recording is performed using the recording material 4 characterized in that the glass transition temp. of the main resin forming the dyeing layer 42 is 100 deg.C or lower and the cosine of the contact angle only of the resin layer containing no additives is 0.6 or less and the resin of the recording material is different from the resin forming the colorant layers of the transfer materials 1, 2. Further, the recorded matter formed in the dyeing layer or formed to the surface thereof is thermally transferred or fixed to the image receiving material 5. As a result, an image of high image quality can be recorded on the he image receiving material such as plain paper at a high speed.
