IMAGE SHARPENING METHOD AND SHARP IMAGE GENERATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the omission of gray levels from being unnecessarily emphasized in consideration of the omission of gradations in the image. SOLUTION: This generation is constituted of a sharpening processing part 13 of a CPU 1 and a gray-level table 22 between a hard disk 3 for outputting images and a printing part 4. The CPU 1 accumulates the number of pixels for each density in the density data of the image, stores them in a histogram memory 23 of a storage part 2 and detects the omitted gray level from the histogram. A gray-level degeneration part 12 prepares the gray-level table 22 for outputting the continuous density data by repairing the omitted gray level. Then, the image is outputted through the prepared gray-level table and the sharpening processing part 13.
