PURPOSE:To provide an optical recording medium wherein a design, printing to a transparent substrate which has been impossible hitherto is made possible without losing the reliability of information of an optical recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The optical recording medium includes an optical recording layer 3 which can be recorded and reproduced by beam disposed on a transparent substrate 1 having an irregular preformat pattern, and a protective substrate 5 laminated on the optical recording layer 3 via an adhesive 4, wherein the optical recording medium has a design printing layer 6 formed on the surface of the transparent substrate 1. The optical recording medium comprising a substrate, preformat layer, optical layer, and a protective substrate has further a design printing layer between the substrate and the preformat layer. |
