PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector which can make the bending of element leads unnecessary and to shorten the total length of the connector by press-contacting the leads with contacts and making the contacts solderable to a wiring pattern. SOLUTION: In an optical connector 1, leads 33a-33c are press-contacted with contacts 20a-20c and the front ends of lead sections 24 extended downward from the contacts 20a-20c are attached to a circuit board by inserting the lead sections 24 into through holes 61 and soldering the lead sections 24 to a wiring pattern. Therefore, the bending of the leads 33a-33c is not required. In addition, the total length of the connector 1 can be shortened without giving any damage to the leads 33a-33c and members in an element when the contacts 20a-20c are moved forward. Moreover, the assembling work of the connector 1 can be made easier, because the leads 33a-33c can be press-contacted with the contacts 20a-20c when a cover 40 is assembled. |
