PURPOSE: To obtain a fusion roll fusing a toner to paper and enabling recording on the paper. CONSTITUTION: A surface layer 202 of fluoroelastomer contg. vinylidene fluoride (VF2 ) and >=23.4mol% hexafluoropropylene(HFP) is formed on a hollow metallic core 201 to obtain the objective fusion roll 200. The fluorine content of the fluoroelastomer made of a VF2 -HFP copolymer is >=69wt.%. When the fusion roll is used, offsetting can be prevented without using a releasing agent having a mercapto functional group.
