<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a drop in paper sheet attraction in high temperature and humidity environment by generating an electrified area in locally uneven state but polarized in either positive or negative state as a whole on the surface of a belt, and attracting a paper sheet to the belt, while the belt being kept near or in contact with the paper sheet. CONSTITUTION:A voltage application means 50 generates voltage capable of functioning to form an electrified area in locally uneven state but polarized in either positive or negative state as a whole on the surface of a belt 1, and voltage is thereby applied to an electrifier 4. In this case, electric charge approximately equal to an electric charge amount induced on a dielectric layer on the reverse side of the belt 1 from an earthing section, is induced on a paper sheet G1 having resistance remarkably reduced due to high humidity environment, when the sheet Gl is kept in contact with the belt 1 so charged. As a result, the electric charge induced on the reverse side of the belt 1 disappears. Electrostatic force acts between the belt 1 with electric charge polarized in either positive or negative state, and the sheet G1 with electric charge of polarity reverse to the charge on the belt 1, thereby attracting the sheet G1 to the belt 1.</p> |
