<p>PURPOSE:To provide a paper feed device capable of feeding paper sheets one at a time, and simultaneously detecting double feeding. CONSTITUTION:Based on the height of paper sheets 4 laminated on a paper sheet placing table 1 detected by a sensor A6, and data on double feeding, etc., at the time of paper feeding, a motor 3 for lifting and lowering the paper sheet placing table 1 is driven and controlled. Since the sensor A6 has the ability to detect even the thickness of a single sheet of paper, the position- relationship between the uppermost position of the paper sheets 4 and a paper feed part 5 is always kept constant, and thus the paper sheets 4 is not damaged when the paper sheets are fed by the paper feed part 5. Further, double feeding is detected simultaneously with the paper feeding, and the double feeding is judged to be a jam in the paper feed part. As a result, the paper feed device is immediately stopped, and thus the jam can be quickly removed.</p> |
