PURPOSE:To obtain an antibacterial agent effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus by using isoliquiritigenin which is a flavonoid component of licorice as an active component. CONSTITUTION:The agent contains isoliquiritigenin and licochalcone A extracted from licorice root as active components. Isoliquiritigenin and licochalcone A exhibit strong antibacterial activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (abbreviated as MRSA) and are effective for the treatment and prevention of intractable infectious diseases caused by MRSA. It can be used in the form of peroral drug, injection, suppository, liquid agent for external use, ointment, etc., and the administration dose of the compound is 50-500mg/day for adult. It can be used for the disinfection of medical tools, hand of health care person, clothes, beddings, etc., and as food additives as well as pharmaceuticals. |
