The compressor includes a drive disk (23) which is arranged in a crank chamber (15) and is stored revolvingly on a drive shaft (18). A butt (38) engages with the drive disk and is arranged in a cylinder drill hole (12a). The slope of the drive disk is varied in accordance with the difference between the pressure in the crank chamber and the pressure in the cylinder drill hole. The compressor has an inlet channel (48) for connecting an outlet chamber (39) with the crank chamber. A control valve (49) is arranged in the inlet channel for adjusting a quantity of a gas which is introduced from the outlet chamber into the crank chamber. The control valve includes a valve body (51) and a solenoid (52, 74) which is operated by an electric current supplied by a driver (83). The solenoid generates an opposite electro-motoric force based on its self-induction. A protection arrangement or protection circuit, e.g. a diode, is connected parallel with the solenoid.
