PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize and improve gloss of an image recorded face of a thermally sensitive recording medium after recording the image and to suppress thermal energy and an operating time therefor. SOLUTION: Predetermined thermal energy and pressure are applied to an entire image recording face of a thermally sensitive recording medium after image recording is performed by means of a thermal head 40. The level of the predetermined thermal energy is determined based on a relationship between the applied thermal energy on the recording face of the thermally sensitive recording medium and a gloss property to a range including a point having the best gloss property.
