PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically optically read a marker (mark made of a character, mark or the like) printed on a surface of a slender lengthy material (wire, optical cable or the like) particularly with a fast linear speed and to output an alarm in the case of a fault. SOLUTION: A reflecting tape is, for example, adhered to a rotary shaft of a printing roll 240, and detected by an optical sensor 26 to obtain the same pulse signal as a printing period. A strobe light 28 is emitted by utilizing the signal. And, a moment of emission of the light is imaged (imaged to be stood still) by an image sensor 30. And, an area of a part of the marker 12 of the image is measured. And when the measured value is deviated out of a set value, an alarm is generated. Thus, a printing state can be managed in an unmanned manner. |
