The cylinder sleeve (1), for a water-cooled internal combustion motor, has collar (3) with at least one shaped cooling channel (4), at the sealing plane of the cylinder head (2). The cross section of the cooling channel (4) is structured to maintain a temp. window during operation, between max. and min. levels, through a closed profile line (5) within the cylinder sleeve collar (3) with a longitudinal shape. Its height (H) on the cylinder sleeve axis (1a) is longer than its max. width on the radial plane of the cylinder sleeve (1). The cooling effect is greater at the upper end of the sleeve collar (3) at the cylinder head sealing plane (2) than at the lower end.
