PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase slip-off preventing force by means of lances and receiving force by a terminal receiving part. SOLUTION: In this connector, a housing 10 is formed so as to be devided into a housing main body 13 and a front plate 14, and lances 18 is formed to the housing main body 13 side and a terminal receiving part 30 is formed to the front plate 14 side. The front plate 14 is fitted in an attaching recessed- part 16 of the housing main body 13, and upper and lower locking protrusions 36, 37 are engaged with locking holes 38, 39 and locked with each other. A space defined between a terminal inserting port 28 of the front plate 14 and a position for forming its terminal receiving part 30 is closed, and this place is served as a protecting wall 32 that covers the front of a folding part of a connecting piece in a female side terminal fitting inserted into a cavity 11, and an operation port 34 for inserting a jig performing a locking-release operation of a lance 18 around an upper space and a space defined between right and left termianl receiving part 30. Both dimensions of lances 18 and a terminal receiving part 30 are designed without being subject to any interference to each other.
