PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the cost of a screen surface protecting means, and to avoid the problem of the waste while repeatedly using a protecting cover by fitting the protecting cover so as to cover the screen surface of a cathode-ray tube freely to be removed. SOLUTION: A protecting cover 20 for cathode-ray tube 10 is formed of an integral molding of plastic so as to be repeatedly used. The inner surface of the protecting cover 20 is formed with spacers at four corners thereof so as to prevent the direct contact with a surface treatment part of the screen part 12 of the color cathode-ray tube 10. This cover 20 can be fitted by hooking a lock claw 22 provided near the corner parts of the cover peripheral wall part 21 on a lug part 17 continuously provided to a cathode-ray tube explosion preventing band 16 or removed by partially deforming the protecting cover 20 with the protecting cover 20 rotating force in left. The inner surface of the protecting cover 20 is provided with a charge preventing layer, and the dust adhered to the protecting cover 20 can be eliminated by only blowing the air to the inner surface of the cover 20 at the time of reuse, and the protecting cover 20 can be repeatedly used.
