PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the ejecting operation of a recording medium, and to improve the operability of a recorder or a player. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a device body section 2 having a loading part 6 for loading a recording medium 20, a lid body 3 for opening/ closing the device body section, an operation button 13 provided in the lid body 3 and supported movably in roughly the same direction as the opening/ closing direction of the lid body 3, a rotating lever 8 having an engaging part 10a and a pressing part 11a for releasing the unloading of the recording medium on the loading part, a locking means engaged with the engaging part of the rotating lever 8 to lock the lid body in its closed position, a pressing means 16 for rotating the rotating lever 8 to release engagement between the locking means and the engaging part and causing the pressing part of the rotating lever to press the recording medium, a repulsing means for pressing the lid body 3 in its opening direction, and a discharging means for discharging the recording medium unloaded from the loading part to the outside.
