PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dynamic focusing electron gun for a color cathode-ray tube allowing a dynamic focusing voltage to be lowered and capable of enhancing the resolution of an image by preventing moire phenomena on peripheral parts of the image. SOLUTION: This electron gun is equipped with a cathode 21, a control electrode 22, and a screen electrode 23, these forming a three-pole part, first, second, third, fourth, and fifth focus electrodes 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, these acting as an auxiliary lens and first and second quadrupole lenses, and a final acceleration electrode 29 provided next to the fifth focus electrode 28 for forming a main lens including a focus lens and a convergence lens. Three electron-beam passing holes are formed in line in the respective electrodes or one electron- beam passing hole for passing all of three electron beams is formed there. A dynamic focusing voltage can be thereby reduced, costs required for the manufacture of electrodes can be reduced, and quality reliability can be enhanced.
