<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect whether or not a disk is stored and to shorten the replacement time of the disk by arranging a light emitting means which irradiates with light the outer peripheral end surface of a carrier in a carrier storage means storing multiple carriers and a light receiving means which receives reflected light from the outer peripheral end surface of the carrier. SOLUTION: Under stop servocontrol, a disk position detector detects a relative address by counting how many times a shutter raised below partition plates 11a and 11b cuts off light and stops a disk conveying means 4 at a specific address. A disk presence/absence detector operates to irradiate the outer peripheral part of a disk 2 at the stop position with the light of the light emitting element and then indicates that the specific disk 2 is absent in the specific disk storage means 3a when reflection is not obtained by the light receiving element. When the disk 2 is detected, the disk conveying means 4 is stopped at the correct specific position and moves the disk 2 up.</p> |
