PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine only the outer contour on an annularly continuous image by converting an original image into a binary image based on a threshold value, and making the picture element value of a backing portion surrounded by the annularly continuous binary image equal to the picture element value of the annularly continuous image. SOLUTION: An X-ray radiation/detection device is rotated in the range of an image pickup object, and 1000 view projections are collected in a data collection buffer 64, for example. A central processor 60 makes image reconstitution to generate a tomographic image based on multiple view projections collected in the data collection buffer 64 and displays it on a display device 68. For abdomen peripheral measurement, the binary image of a fat image is generated from the tomographic image by a binarization section, a picture element value changing process is applied to a subcutaneous fat image by a picture element value change section, and an image of the picture element value of 1 entirely on the inside of the annular fat image is obtained. A contour is extracted by a contour extraction section, and the contour length is calculated by a contour length calculation section.
