PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower working cost by a method wherein wires for a shaft are previously penetrated into shaft holes of the necessary number of ribs and working of fitting a cap body is made to complete assembling work, which allows even unskilled workers to easily handle the working. SOLUTION: A fixed runner 70 is constituted of a cap body 71 externally fitted onto the upper end of a metal rod to be fixed and a runner body 72 which has ribs 30 securely pivoted. The cap body 71 is provided at a peripheral lower part thereof with vertical grooves into which get the base parts of the ribs 30 when an umbrella is opened and a plurality of link retaining pieces 713 which are each provided with a bulging part 712 at the tip thereof to integrally fit the runner body 72 thereonto are arranged vertically inscribing the metal rod 10. In the runner body 72, a horizontal groove 722 to get a wire 60 for a shaft penetrated thereinto is formed across vertical grooves 721 in a flat surface facing the vertical grooves 721 arranged radially on the perimeter thereof and the cap body 71. Recessed parts 723 are formed following a round hole for the metal rod to receive the link retaining pieces 713.
