<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of information equipment and to eliminate the need to allocate many blocks for data storage. SOLUTION: The initial value of data and a flag which is set corresponding to the initial value and shows whether or not the initial value is effective are written, altered data and information showing the kind of the data are written, and as the altered data are written, the flag is switched to record data showing that the initial value becomes ineffective. In this case, the flag is switched as the altered data are written and then the data showing that the initial value becomes ineffective are recorded. Consequently, the initial value need not be written together with a corresponding pointer.</p> |
