PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a power source device mounted on a space shuttle or the like small, lightweight, and less expensive. SOLUTION: A power source device for generating electric power by using fuel 1 and an oxidizing agent 2 as the energy source has a gas generator 3 for generating high temperature gas by the catalytic reaction of the fuel 1 and the oxidizing agent 2, a fuel cell 4 for generating electric power with the gas generated in the gas generator and the oxidizing agent gas, a thermal battery 6 for generating electric power by heating the outside with the high temperature gas obtained in the gas generator, a flow control device 5 for controlling the flow rate of the high temperature gas supplied to the thermal battery 6, and a controller 7 for controlling the flow control device 5, and in the case that low current is required over the long period of time, the fuel cell 4 is operated, and in the case that high current is required for a short time, the thermal battery 6 is operated. |
