PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve exhaust performance by activating a cleaning means in an early stage, and to extend the life of a secondary battery by uniform charging, which generates power by utilizing power of an internal combustion engine used for the activation of the cleaning means. SOLUTION: A control device for a vehicle comprises: a motor for driving the internal combustion engine in a startup and generating power using the internal combustion engine as a power source; the secondary battery for storing the generated power of the motor; a control device for outputting a drive-force signal to either the internal combustion engine or the motor, corresponding to the operation amount of an accelerator; the cleaning means for cleaning an exhausted subject in the internal combustion engine; and a cleaning-performance detection means. Also in the device, there are provided: a means for determining whether the uniform charging is necessary or not, which charges the secondary battery with a constant current, and again charges the battery for a given time after the battery reaches a predetermined voltage; and a means for uniformly charging the secondary battery when the battery, which is configured so as to include a uniform-charge means for uniformly charging when the cleaning performance detected by the cleaning-performance detection means is low, needs the uniform charging, and when the cleaning means is not activated and the internal combustion engine has a sufficient output. |
