<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch an existing control unit to a current control unit in a short preparation time and a short work time, and reduce the switching time, cost and the quantity of industrial waste products emitted. <P>SOLUTION: A controller is provided with a control unit accommodating case 310, whose dimensions are the same as the installation dimensions of a first control unit (the existing control unit). The control unit accommodating case 310 is provided with a second control unit (the current control unit) 210, whose dimensions are different from the dimensions of the first control unit, and an interface 220 for providing compatibility of an electrical signal of the second control unit.
