<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner capable of securing a large surface area of a photocatalyst disposed at the inside of the air cleaner. <P>SOLUTION: In this air cleaner, first discharge tubes 12 for radiating ultraviolet rays are housed in a case 11 equipped with intake vents 17 and exhaust vents 18, and first photocatalyst carriers 14 formed by fixing a large number of light transmitting porous adsorbents 27 made by holding the photocatalyst to the surface of a base 30 via light transmitting adhesive 28 are disposed at places within the irradiated range of the ultraviolet rays generated by the first discharge tubes 12. Further, the outer surface of a first substrate 19 of an air-tight container 22 constituting each first discharge tube 12 is laid with a large number of the porous adsorbents 27 fixedly via the light transmitting adhesive 28. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
