<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image signal generating device for generating image signals based on pulse signals corresponding to the sliding operation by an operator. <P>SOLUTION: A reflection pattern 43 consisting of an optical reflection part 45 and an optical absorbing part 44 is formed in a sliding operation member 2. A light emitting diode 36 and photo-transistors 34 and 35 are disposed inside a slid part 33. When the sliding operation member 2 is brought into contact with the slid part 33 and is slid and moved, infrared light from the light emitting diode 36 is reflected on the reflection pattern 43, and pulse signals A and B are outputted from the photo-transistors 34 and 35 which receive the reflected light. A high-speed processor 200 built in a body 1 of an automatic music player as the image signal generating device calculates the sliding speed, sliding direction and sliding time based on the pulse signals A and B, and controls the movement of a character 73 displayed on a screen 82 according to the calculated values. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
