PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate unnecessary power consumption and to enable agreeable use by starting up the system according to a reservation schedule and placing it in stationary operation only in a time for use. SOLUTION: A large-size PDP device 10 is used in common, so a control part 12 constitutes even what is called a scheduler wherein use start time (use start reservation time), use end time (use end reservation time), etc., are set and registered in advance; and use is allowed after a use reservation is made in principle. This use reservation can be made from personal computers by departments and users through a LAN. The control part 12 requires a time from its power-ON operation (start of power supply to PDP 11) and an energy- saving mode to a normal mode, so the power source of PDP 11 is turned ON/ OFF and normal mode/energy-saving mode switching is performed on the basis of use reservation information such as the use start time, use end time or the like, set previously in the schedule on HDD. |
