The present invention provides nucleic acids. Polypeptides, antibodies and cells related to MAIL (Molecule possessing Ankyrin repeats Induced by LPS; or IkB-z), a novel member of the IkB family, expressed in LPS stimulated monocytes and uses thereof. The isolated nucleic acids, polypeptides, antibodies and cells of the invention can be used in detection assays, screening methods and drug discovery assays.
