The window winding mechanism consists of at least one guide rail for a sliding carriage (30) supporting the window (4) and components (35A, 35B) for lowering and raising the window. The carriage has a sliding section (30A) to match the rail, and the lower part of the carriage has a holder for the window (4), positioned with the lower edge of the glass at a distance from the upper part of the sliding section so that the end of the carriage's travel the lower edge of the window is at a predetermined distance from the lower end of the rail. The rails and their connecting components are made from moulded plastics, and each carriage is made in the shape of vertical outer and inner walls and a supporting base for the window. The carriages are raised and lowered by cables (35A, 35B), one of which has a spring (330) to take up play. |
