A method and a system for providing a mobile broadcasting service and a home media server are provided to supply cable broadcasting and satellite broadcasting to a mobile terminal through a next generation mobile communication network and a portable Internet network. A service connection request is received from a mobile terminal of a subscriber of a mobile broadcasting service(S501). The mobile terminal is connected to a home media server corresponding to the mobile terminal based on identification information of the mobile terminal(S506). The information of a channel desired by the subscriber is transmitted to the home media server. Channel data extracted based on the channel information are transmitted from the home media server to the mobile terminal through a wireless communication network(S509).
